Job summary

Loews Chicago Hotel is seeking a dependable Steward to maintain the highest cleanliness standards in kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils, and support daily operations with the culinary and banquet teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to stand for long periods, and capable of lifting heavy items. The role offers growth opportunities within our hospitality teams in a central Chicago location.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in kitchen or hospitality-related work preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and provide excellent customer service.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
• Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and glassware to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Operate dishwashing machines and perform manual cleaning when needed.
• Organize and store cleaned items for easy access and smooth operations.
• Keep kitchen floors, walls, counters and equipment spotless and sanitary.
• Support culinary, banquet, and outlet teams by organizing equipment for service.
• Deliver clean plates, utensils and essentials to kitchen or service areas.
• Dispose of trash, recycling and food waste according to hotel standards.
• Sanitize trash bins and maintain waste management zones.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Report broken or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety procedures.
• Follow health and sanitation guidelines and proper food handling.
• Attend all mandatory trainings and team meetings.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
