Job summary

Hyatt Regency Deerfield is seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations at the Deerfield, IL property. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close while partnering with hotel leadership to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.

The role requires 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–3 years accounting experience; hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and general ledger processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
• Review daily revenue reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable: invoice processing, billing, collections, payment reconciliation.
• Reconcile cash deposits and assist with cash-handling controls.
• Review guest ledger, city ledger, and advance deposit balances.
• Assist with financial statements, account schedules, and management reports.
• Support payroll reconciliation and labor reporting as needed.
• Maintain organized accounting records and assist with audits.
• Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies.
• Partner with department leaders to resolve accounting questions promptly.
