Job summary

New Waterloo is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Server to join our Baltimore operation. You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and help create a welcoming guest experience in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires state-issued food handling and beverage certifications, 6+ months hospitality experience, comfort with POS systems, and the ability to read safety and operational docs. You should be able to communicate clearly with guests and work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling and beverage certifications as required.
• 6+ months of hospitality experience.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and procedures.
• Effective spoken communication with guests and team members.
• Ability to operate POS systems and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of daily specials and menu items to inform guests.
• Verify age requirements for alcoholic beverages per state law.
• Explain preparation methods and ingredients to guests.
• Describe and recommend wines and specialty drinks.
• Take orders, enter them into the POS, and send to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages, garnish dishes as required.
• Assist guests with allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Prepare table settings and maintain dining areas.
• Assist with running food, clearing tables, and escorting guests.
• Respond to guest comments and concerns promptly.
• Manage order times and communicate delays to guests/management.
• Prepare itemized checks and process payments.
• Clear dishes and reset tables; stock service areas.
