Job summary

Hotel Fort Des Moines, Curio Collection by Hilton in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a full-time Security/Maintenance team member. This role covers 2 second shift maintenance (Fri-Sat 2:30pm-1am) and 2 overnight security (Sun-Mon 8pm-6:30am), with duties including security rounds, light maintenance, and assisting guests.

Eligible candidates will have a valid driver's license, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and operate a vehicle legally.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Legal to operate a motor vehicle.
• Willingness to perform light maintenance and respond to guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and responsive property walks.
• Maintain security of building including exterior access points and interior restricted areas.
• Report all real and potential security issues to management and act on issues accordingly.
• Assist in problem resolution to maintain safety of all hotel guests and associates.
• Call for emergency assistance when necessary.
• Assist guests and associates in emergency situations.
• Escort unwelcome persons from the premises when requested by management.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Participate in investigations as requested.
• Perform light maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Respond to guests' needs. Perform additional duties as implied or requested.

This full time Security/Maintenance position consists of 2 second shift maintenance (Friday-Saturday 2:30pm - 1am) and 2 overnight security (Sunday-Monday 8pm - 6:30am).

Average day would consist of:

• security rounds
• lock-up
• airport shuttle runs (drivers can receive tips).
• light maintenance work
• guestroom preventive maintenance
• respond to guest requests
• sidewalk snow removal as needed

Valid driver's license with good driving record required.

What you'll be doing...
