Magnolia Hospitality Services is seeking a motivated, results-driven Hotel Sales Manager to support the sales efforts of SpringHill Suites Galveston.This position is located on-site in Galveston, TX.
This role is responsible for driving revenue through proactive sales efforts, developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and partnering with hotel leadership and revenue management to strengthen the property’s market position.
The ideal candidate has previous hotel sales experience, understands the Galveston or greater Houston hospitality market, and is comfortable balancing proactive business development with account management and property-level sales execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to generate new business and grow hotel revenue.
- Prospect for new accounts and identify opportunities across corporate, group, government, crew, association, and other relevant market segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site tours, and follow-up activities to convert opportunities into booked business.
- Manage leads, proposals, contracts, and account activity throughout the sales process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, community partners, and demand generators.
- Partner with the General Manager and Revenue Management to identify need periods and develop strategies to improve occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
- Monitor market activity, competitive positioning, and local demand opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, and production tracking.
- Represent the hotel professionally at networking events, community activities, and other business-development opportunities.
- Maintain effective communication with hotel leadership and Magnolia Hospitality Services.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in proactive sales, business development, account management, or group sales within the hospitality industry.
- Proven ability to prospect, build client relationships, and convert business opportunities into revenue.
- Strong understanding of the hotel sales cycle, including lead management, proposals, contracts, and follow-up.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and consistently follow through on sales activity.
- Ability to work on-site in Galveston, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Sales Manager experience in a branded hotel strongly preferred.
- Marriott brand experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the Galveston/Houston market and local demand generators is a plus.
- Experience working with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to identify need periods and develop targeted sales strategies.
- Experience with corporate, group, government, crew, or other hotel market segments is preferred.
Compensation
$55,000-$65,000 per year, based on experience.
