Job summary

The Public Spaces Attendant (Custodian) position at J&P Hospitality Management, LLC is on-site and part-time. You will maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the hotel’s public areas, laundry facilities, and exterior grounds, including lobbies and restrooms, while supporting laundry operations and guest room readiness for check-ins.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, following safety guidelines, and working with housekeeping to ensure a welcoming environment for guests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or housekeeping experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Employment is subject to E-Verify verification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other shared spaces.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry as needed to support housekeeping operations.
• Assist with preparing guest rooms for check-in by supporting the housekeeping team.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exterior grounds (e.g., picking up trash, emptying trash cans, clearing walkways, cleaning dumpster area, sweeping entryways).
• Monitor common areas for safety hazards and report issues to the General Manager.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, water leaks, electrical outages, or other urgent facility needs.
• Use cleaning products and tools safely and in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or resetting breakers as trained.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
