Job summary

The Langham Chicago is seeking a dedicated Public Area Attendant to maintain all public spaces, restrooms, locker rooms, corridors, and the Langham shop to Langham and Forbes standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning sinks and toilets, dusting, vacuuming, and assisting guests in emergencies, with a flexible schedule to reflect hotel needs. Prior hotel housekeeping experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions with limited supervision.
• Basic English comprehension for safety labels and instructions.
• Prior hotel housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean sinks, toilets, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls and stalls with cleaning agents.
• Sweep and mop all flooring and hard surfaces.
• Dust furniture, pictures and shelves.
• Vacuum public areas, corridors, hallways, and back‑of‑house areas.
• Clean and polish metal surfaces; empty trash.
• Assist guests with safety guidance in emergencies.
• Work varying schedules to meet hotel needs.
