Job summary

The Langham, Chicago is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to ensure the cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public areas, and to assist room attendants in upholding Langham standards of quality.

You will be expected to work with stain removal knowledge, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and respond to guest questions while maintaining immaculate personal grooming and uniforms; varying shifts may be required to meet hotel business needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents.
• Ability to learn proper handling of hazardous chemicals per company standards.
• Ability to read and write basic English to complete forms such as room status reports.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are kept free of soiled linen and trash. Stock closets with supplies and linen as directed.
• Pick up and sanitize glasses according to hotel policy.
• Keep butler pantries and housekeeping storage areas clean and neat.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop hallways, stairwells and foyers as needed.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors and elevator rooms.
• Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
• Be able to do laundry, clean rooms, and public areas.
• Respond to guest questions and provide directions and escort guests when requested.
• Provide service to hotel guests as specified in Langham and Forbes service standards.
• Ensure to always be immaculately dressed according to hotel standards.
