Job summary

Langham Chicago is seeking a hotel housekeeping professional to maintain public areas, restrooms, corridors, and common spaces to Langham and Forbes standards.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning agents, ability to follow directions, and basic English. You will work a flexible schedule and contribute to guest safety while upholding high cleanliness standards in a luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
• Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understanding information such as safety labels and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, and stalls, vents and/or floors with appropriate cleaning agents.
• Sweep and mop all flooring, which includes all hard surfaces.
• Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves.
• Vacuuming of the public areas including corridors and all hallways. Vacuum non-–public and back of house areas.
• Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents.
• Empty trash.
• Provide general assistance to guests, including instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
