Job summary

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is seeking a dedicated painting technician to maintain and enhance interiors and exteriors of the hotel and related buildings. You will perform skilled painting tasks on furniture and structures, ensuring high quality finishes in a luxury setting.

Responsibilities include tool maintenance, surface preparation, color matching, and safety compliance while working under supervision. This role offers immediate access to a comprehensive benefits package upon full-time

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, 0–5 years of painting experience.
• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and refers complex ones to higher-level staff.
• Basic knowledge of painting concepts.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
• Physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains brushes and tools used after painting.
• Mixes and matches various types of paint.
• Demonstrates proper use of brushes, thinner, and equipment.
• Inspects walls to decide number of paint coats.
• Maintains quality and standards of work.
• Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel to equipment and structures.
• Prepares surfaces with primers or sealers.
• Mixes colors with thinning agents to achieve desired hues.
• Fills nail holes and cracks with filler.
• Covers surfaces with drop cloths and removes fixtures prior to painting.
• Calculates material quantities and estimates costs from measurements.
• Follows established safety procedures.
• Requisitions painting supplies and equipment.
