Job summary

The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Collection is seeking a professional painter to maintain finishes across the property, following our color scheme and using approved tools. The role requires applying primers, removing old finishes, and protecting surfaces during work to ensure a pristine appearance.

Responsibilities include applying paints and finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture, coordinating color changes with vendors, and adhering to PPE and lifting procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a professional painter.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry.
• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to communicate in English with team members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property finishes per color scheme preferences and using the appropriate equipment.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
• Coordinate with vendors to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil, thinning, and drying additives to obtain desired colors.
• Use proper PPE and lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury.
• Protect company tools and equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
