Job summary

Moody Brews Barista position at Moody Gardens requires friendly customer service, accurate order taking, and timely beverage preparation. You will greet guests, explain coffee options, take payments, and ensure a clean, well-stocked workspace.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and obtain TABC & Food Handlers certifications prior to starting. Prior experience is preferred; on-site role in Galveston, TX.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Provide information on coffee blends and prices.
• Take orders accurately and brew coffee per instructions.
• Serve beverages and notify customers when orders are ready.
• Process payments and handle change.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of work areas.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, sanitized and maintained.
• Monitor supplies and inform procurement of shortages.
• Manage daily inventory and orders as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

JOB SUMMARY:The Moody Brews Barista will take orders, prepare beverages, and serve customers with exceptional customer service.POSITION AUTHORITY:The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.POSITION GUIDELINES:Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Greet customers as they arrive at Moody Brews in a friendly and courteous mannerProvide customers with information on popular coffee blendsTake orders accuratelyProvide customers with price informationBrew coffee per instructions and in a timely mannerServe brewed coffee and inform customer when their order is readyNotify Supervisor if a guest is not 100% satisfiedTake payments for coffee sold and tender changeEnsure cleanliness and sanitization of all work areasMake sure that coffee brewing equipment is cleaned, sanitized and maintained properly on a constant basisEnsure that sufficient supplies are available and inform procurement officers of any shortagesMake sure that coffee blends are stored in a safe mannerMaintain inventory and order supplies dailyAny and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody GardensEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalent preferredPrior experience in a similar position preferredMust obtain TABC & Food Handlers certification prior to beginning workREQUIRED SKILLS:Must be reliable and responsibleAbility to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitudeStrong communication and organization skillsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to remain on feet standing and walking for entire shiftAbility to work in a confined space
