Job summary

Home2 Suites by Hilton Hammond, IN is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join our Engineering Team. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer and helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning hotel for guests and team members.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and support safety and property-improvement programs.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel maintenance, facilities, apartment maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance issues.
• Respond promptly to guest room and public-area maintenance requests.
• Complete assigned work orders and communicate maintenance concerns to Engineering leadership.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and facilities for maintenance issues.
• Assist with painting, drywall repairs, furniture repairs, doors, locks, fixtures, and other general maintenance projects.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and property improvement projects.
• Maintain tools, equipment, engineering areas, and workspaces in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures, company policies, and applicable safety standards.
• Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with guests and team members.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations and respond appropriately when required.
• Support the Engineering Department in maintaining an exceptional guest environment.
