Hotel Maintenance Technician - PM Shift - Hilton Des Moines Downtown (Finance)

Salary: $19.00/hour, with benefits including Free Parking, DailyPay, Free Employee Meals, Discount Hotel Stays, Insurance, PTO, and 401k at 90 Days.

A Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel facility, contributing to outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This is a PM shift position, working afternoons to evenings.

What will I be doing?

As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the functionality and safety of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Responding promptly and courteously to guest calls and work orders to repair machinery and equipment.
• Performing repairs across various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC, and masonry.
• Conducting inspections for preventive maintenance needs.
• Documenting repairs and reporting items requiring further attention.

Supportive Functions

This role may also include:

• Managing inventory of supplies.
• Reporting major repairs and out-of-service rooms.
• Performing additional duties or projects as assigned, such as waterproofing, shop cleanup, and hazardous materials labeling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates should have:

• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades.
• Basic mechanical skills for operating and repairing hotel equipment.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Basic English communication and math skills.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Basic maintenance experience in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or carpentry trades.

Licenses/Certificates: Ability to obtain necessary licenses; CPR and First Aid preferred.
