Assistant Banquet Manager - Hilton Des Moines Downtown (Finance)

The Hilton Des Moines Downtown is a modern hotel located in the vibrant, tech-centric area of Des Moines. Connected to the Iowa Events Center via the Skywalk system, it offers convenient access to offices, dining, and attractions. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, a signature restaurant, indoor pool, fitness center, and 19,338 sq. ft. of stylish event space.

The Banquets Department is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in restaurants or banquets, a positive attitude, and a guest service focus. What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Banquet Manager, you will assist in planning, organizing, and executing banquet functions to ensure outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Your responsibilities include:

1. Managing banquet operations, including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, marketing initiatives, systems management, budgeting, and policy enforcement.
2. Supervising food and beverage setup and cleanup.
3. Planning, organizing, and executing various banquet events such as breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, receptions, and galas.
4. Monitoring and developing team member performance through supervision, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
5. Recruiting, interviewing, and training team members.
6. Greeting clients and responding to guest requests promptly and courteously.
