Job summary
Canopy by Hilton Ithaca is seeking a maintenance technician to help keep all hotel spaces in good repair, including guest rooms, meeting spaces, restaurant areas, and exterior grounds. You will perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks, follow safety protocols, and maintain logs while supporting the Chief Engineer on maintenance programs.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, technical training in maintenance, and 2+ years in related hotel maintenance or customer service
Qualifications
- Maintenance knowledge and ability to perform routine repairs.
- Ability to read labels, understand safety data sheets, and communicate problems clearly.
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain guest rooms, meeting space, restaurant and other hotel areas.
- Follow safety precautions and inspect for discrepancies.
- Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC tasks as needed.
- Update maintenance logs and assist in preventive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with inspectors to ensure code compliance and safety.
- Support the Chief Engineer in administration of maintenance activities.
