Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Engineer, Level 1, to maintain property systems and ensure guest comfort with minimal disruption. You will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least one year of hotel maintenance experience, and flexibility for long hours. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel experience preferred.
• At least one year of progressive hotel-related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and flexible hours; ability to read blueprints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, etc.
• Take required readings on equipment and test cooling tower.
• Replace and program televisions as needed; replace light switches, receptacles, fixtures.
• Perform plumbing repairs (clogs, copper pipes, washers, handles).
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams; trace water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment; maintain maintenance records.
• Perform work to local, state and Federal codes; safety compliance.
• Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas; paint designated areas.
