Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Las Vegas is seeking an Engineer, Level 1, to ensure the property is maintained in top condition with minimal disruption to guests and employees.

You will perform repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, read blueprints, and maintain records while adhering to local codes. The role requires physical work, flexibility, and strong teamwork and communication with staff and guests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or college coursework in related field helpful.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and guests and read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, etc.).
• Take required readings on equipment.
• Test cooling tower and record readings.
• Replace and program televisions as needed.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• Perform furniture repair.
• Replace and repair pumps.
• Repair and maintenance of plumbing (drains, copper pipes, washers, handles).
• Understand and read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Trace and repair water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Perform work to local, state and Federal codes.
• Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• Paint designated areas and repair sheet rock.
• Repair wall coverings and electronic hotel lock system.
