Job summary

Highgate Hotels in the United States is seeking an Engineer, Level 1, to keep the property in excellent condition with minimal guest disruption. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, electrical equipment, and plumbing, and carry out repairs as needed.

You must have a High School diploma or equivalent, at least one year in a hotel or related field, and be able to read blueprints.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Trade school and/or College coursework in related field helpful.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests.

Responsibilities

Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (boilers, chillers, electrical, etc.).
Take required readings on equipment and test systems as needed.
Replace and program televisions, light switches, and fixtures.
Repair plumbing, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams as necessary.
Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and comply with codes.
