Job summary

Extended Stay America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure all property equipment operates smoothly and guest rooms are in good repair. The role emphasizes completing tasks per the Green Shield Binder, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining safety and cleanliness across hotel facilities.

The position requires basic education (GED or high school) and the ability to follow procedures, read manuals, and interact professionally with guests and vendors.

Qualifications

• Read and speak English proficiently and interact with guests, associates and outside vendors.
• Understand and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and company guidelines and standards.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Use units of measurement for weight, volume and distance.
• Apply good judgment at all times.
• Assist with resolving guest issues in accordance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests with diligent follow-through.
• Perform repairs listed on work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as outlined.
• Follow the Green Shield Schedule and SOPs to complete tasks.
• Maintain organized and clean work area and tool inventory daily.
• Ensure fire safety equipment is operational and inspections are current.
• Assist with cleaning as needed to maintain hotel cleanliness.
• Travel to help additional locations within a reasonable geography if required.
