Job summary

The RIT Inn & Conference Center is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the proper working order of all hotel assets. You will troubleshoot and repair building systems, assist with outdoor duties, and maintain pools and safety procedures to support a hospitable guest experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write or speak English.
• General knowledge or experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry trades.

Responsibilities

• Provide pleasant and professional services to all hotel guests.
• Troubleshoot equipment, systems, and facilities and make repairs.
• Assist with outdoor work (lawn mowing, landscaping, pool opening/closing, snow and ice removal).
• Maintain pools at proper chemical levels, water quality and condition, and equipment operation.
• Be knowledgeable of hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures and equipment as related to department responsibilities.
• Perform custodial work within the context of assigned repairs.
• Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with staff to achieve high levels of cooperation and service excellence.
• Properly maintain all work equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries with appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy.
• Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.
• Perform any task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.
