Job summary

Kana Hotel Group is seeking a dedicated maintenance team member to support hotel operations in Mobile, AL. You will maintain the pool area, exercise room, grounds, and common spaces, handling preventive tasks and reporting issues to the on-duty manager.

The role requires independence, attention to safety, and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. Required are a Highschool Diploma/GED and at least some maintenance-related training or apprenticeship; hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room.
• Keeps grounds clear of visible trash and cleans the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance, including weed removal.
• Check the maintenance log in the front office and fix any problems.
• Work on preventive duties.
• Report any problem that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty so that professional help can be contacted.
• Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM.
• Keep the storage area clean everyday and lock all storage areas before clocking out.
• Ensure that there are enough housekeeping supplies on each floor and there are enough linens and supplies in stock.
• Verify that all exterior lights are working properly.
• Report and fix any safety hazards throughout the hotel.
• Ensures that the stock room has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks and brings it to the attention of the GM if any supply needs to be ordered.
• Follow and fill out the guest room inspection checklist on each room.
• Cleanse equipment, the filters on all HVAC units, and windows and doors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
