Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance, and keep hotel equipment in a safe, well‑maintained state.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades. You will work on site and support ongoing hotel operations and guest comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
• Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.
• Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
• Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
