Job summary

Defoor Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep property in excellent repair and safe for guests. You will respond quickly to guest needs, perform a variety of trades, and maintain life safety systems.

The role requires hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance, with a focus on customer service and reliability. A valid driver’s license and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• General knowledge in carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
• Outgoing personality with excellent customer service.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Dependable, honest and work well with others.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and plumbing malfunctions in hotel systems.
• Willing and able to respond to maintenance complaints promptly.
• Must communicate in English; be a team player.
• Maintain a professional appearance and assist coworkers as needed.
• Identify potential safety hazards and address them appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned work orders promptly.
• Adhere to brand maintenance and safety standards.
• Know life safety systems including fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
• Test and maintain pool water content/quality as required by local/state rules.
• Inspect and maintain exterior grounds, parking areas, and landscaping.
• Repair furniture and fixtures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, windows, etc.
• Paint and finish furniture and building surfaces.
• Check electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and repair as needed.
• Keep work area clean and professional; maintain uniform and personal presentation.
• Maintain life safety systems as directed.
• Ensure security of guests, employees, and hotel assets.
• Follow directions from Chief Engineer, General Manager, and Manager on Duty.
• Protect confidential business information.
• Communicate with guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Do not make purchases without an approved purchase order.
• Report guest issues to Manager on Duty promptly.
• Maintain proper uniform.
• No eating, drinking, or smoking in guest view.
