Job summary

Vista Host is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance of hotel buildings, grounds, and systems. You will manage equipment, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensure safety compliance, train staff, and support asset management to elevate guest experiences.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, independent work, and cross-department collaboration to maintain high standards of property operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel/building maintenance, especially hospitality.
• Hands-on and proactive in resolving issues.
• Ability to train staff and ensure safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance standards for guest rooms and public areas.
• Train maintenance personnel and assist other staff.
• Review and resolve maintenance problems and work orders.
• Ensure safety and compliance of equipment and systems.
• Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems; respond to emergencies.
• Maintain pool operations, chemical balance and logs.
• Maintain exterior grounds and landscaping for a presentable property.
• Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program.
