Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Maintenance/Engineering Manager in Augusta, GA. You will lead daily activities, plan staff, enforce policies, manage budgets and safety, and coordinate renovations with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Some college or advanced vocational training plus four years of experience in maintenance or construction, including supervisory experience.
• Professional certifications such as Level 3 EPA, HVAC or related trades may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily department activities; plan, organize, and schedule staff; enforce policies.
• Recommend staffing actions per company rules; alert management of serious issues.
• Ensure staff training and provide tools and equipment for duties.
• Educate on safety to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Maintain building systems, HVAC, water treatment, and pool if applicable.
• Execute preventive maintenance program goals and budgets.
• Monitor budget and assist in annual departmental financial plans.
• Secure inventory and minimize waste; replenish supplies timely.
• Respond to guest questions to ensure high satisfaction.
• Coordinate renovations with product managers and contractors; obtain bids.
• Determine security needs and manage third-party security firms.
• Promote teamwork and communicate with department heads.
• Interact with guests, vendors, contractors, regulators as needed.
• May assist with other duties and serve as manager on duty.
