Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Morristown, NJ seeks a Maintenance Technician to support operations by performing repair and preventive maintenance on guest rooms and public areas. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry tasks and energy conservation efforts under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record. Trade licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record)

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms including touch‑ups and minor repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, pool and spa.
• Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuums and other small equipment on request.
• Immediately follow up on alarms to determine location and cause; report findings to the Front Desk; perform other tasks as assigned.
