Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. is seeking a Head of Maintenance to lead the hotel's maintenance and engineering operations, directing preventive programs and long-term asset care to ensure safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.

You will oversee budgeting, capital planning, and vendor management, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with housekeeping and front office to maintain seamless, high-quality service. This role requires strong leadership and a track record of managing complex facilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in hospitality or similar environment.
• Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with budgeting, capital planning, and vendor management.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all maintenance and engineering operations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance and asset management programs.
• Oversee the operation, repair, and lifecycle management of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, brand standards, and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and systems to ensure quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee and manage vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party service providers.
• Develop and enforce maintenance policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
• Analyze maintenance data and trends to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs.
• Respond to and oversee resolution of complex or high-impact maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to support seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities using work order systems.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure proper upkeep of exterior areas, grounds, and all public and back-of-house spaces.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and report to work as scheduled.
