Job summary

HRI Properties in Richmond, VA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces in top condition. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance across building systems, responding quickly to requests and recording all work in the system.

The role requires basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs, with training in HVAC or related trades preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
HVAC, electrical, plumbing or related trades training preferred.
Previous maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building preferred.
Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
Complete work orders, PM tasks, and repair logs in the work order system.
Assist with painting, carpentry, caulking, and other cosmetic repairs.
