Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in Baltimore is seeking an Engineer responsible for general maintenance to ensure quality and safety across hotel facilities. You will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and preventative tasks throughout the property.

The role emphasizes teamwork, responsiveness to guest requests, and upkeep of equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and building fixtures. This non-exempt position may require nights or weekends and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• 1+ year of general building maintenance and repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipes, toilets, sinks, and equipment.
• Ensure equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work.
• Monitor efficiency of electrical systems and equipment; perform minor repairs/replacements for maximum efficiency.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms; paint and finish as needed.
• Maintain front entrance, parking areas, and exterior cleanliness and presentation.
• Safely manage inventory and tools, replenish supplies and minimize waste.
• Report unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Respond courteously to guest questions/requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with other departments.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
