Job summary

Peregrine Hospitality seeks an engineer to oversee repair, maintenance, upkeep and service requests across hotel operations, collaborating with Housekeeping and Front Office to coordinate projects. The role involves routine rounds, guest room and public area maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

Candidates should be able to prioritize with limited supervision, communicate effectively, and perform duties with PPE as required.

Qualifications

• Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
• Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
• Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize daily work assignments from the Director of Engineering, coordinating projects with relevant departments.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks in guest rooms and public areas, including painting, wallpaper installation, furniture refinishing, and resolving guest service requests.
• Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials to ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with hotel safety standards (e.g., OSHA requirements).
• Conduct regular rounds to inspect the property for maintenance needs, cleanliness, safety hazards, and necessary touch-ups, addressing issues proactively.
• Respond to work orders and guest calls promptly and professionally, maintaining a high level of service and operational standards.
• Accurately complete required paperwork, update work orders, and communicate follow-up needs before finishing shifts.
• Adhere to hotel policies and procedures, including service, safety, attendance, and key security protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with teammates and other departments, performing additional duties or special projects as assigned by management to support overall hotel operations.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, and safety and security procedures.
• Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.
