Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, part of Evans Hotels, is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer I to help keep guest rooms, public areas, and building systems in excellent condition.

You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety systems, monitor life-safety equipment, support energy conservation, and maintain tools and logs. Weekend/holiday availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3–12 months of relevant experience and/or training; if no educational background, at least 1 year.
• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Experience dealing with the public is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, hardware, appliances, and cosmetic repairs.
• Monitor and respond to Fire Alarm/Life Safety systems; sprinkler and emergency power systems.
• Support energy conservation by monitoring utility usage and identifying improvements.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment; keep areas clean and organized.
• Respond promptly to emergencies to protect guests, associates, and property.
