Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Pleasanton, CA is seeking an Engineer, Level 1 to maintain the property and keep guest experiences seamless. You will perform repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems, follow blueprints, document maintenance, and ensure compliance with codes while minimizing disruption.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least one year hotel maintenance experience, and flexibility for long hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school / college coursework in related field helpful.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Must read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Repair hotel air conditioning system and HVAC components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, electrical systems.
• Take readings on equipment and test systems.
• Replace and program televisions and lighting fixtures.
• Repair plumbing, pumps, and water lines.
• Maintain maintenance records and comply with codes.
• Read blueprints and understand wiring diagrams.
• Inspect and repair pools, spas, and kitchen equipment.
• Cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
