Job summary

Patrice & Associates/RYC Strategic Talent Acquisition is seeking a hands-on Hotel Maintenance Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Tallahassee, FL. The engineer will oversee daily maintenance, repair, and preventative care of the hotel's plant, guest rooms, and public areas.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in hotel maintenance, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems, and can troubleshoot effectively while delivering guest-ready service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel or commercial building maintenance experience required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building repairs.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification considered.
• Pool operator certification is a plus.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Respond quickly to guest room maintenance requests with minimal disruption.
• Conduct routine inspections of rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and equipment.
• Maintain HVAC, boilers, pools, life-safety systems and other critical equipment.
• Identify safety hazards and maintenance issues before they impact guests or operations.
• Complete work orders accurately and on schedule using the maintenance system.
• Perform general repairs including painting, drywall, carpentry, fixtures, doors, and locks.
• Keep an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Support energy-management and cost-control initiatives.
• Assist with capital improvement and preventative maintenance projects.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance needs.
• Follow OSHA, brand, and safety requirements, including PPE and lockout/tagout.
