Job summary

Aloft-Houston-By-the-Galleria is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment across rooms and facilities in Houston. You will interact with guests, respond to room calls, and maintain records of preventive and request maintenance programs.

The role requires ability to stand long hours, work in various conditions, and clear English communication. Experience in HVAC, electrical and plumbing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall and basic general maintenance.
• Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and act upon each accordingly.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunction in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment throughout the hotel.
• Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance assignments on a schedule basis (e.g., “room care”).
• Services the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
• Assists other Engineering Personnel when needed.
• Performs any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
