Job summary

The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to respond quickly to guest requests and keep hotel systems performing safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other equipment, manage logs, handle elevator issues, and assist with emergency responses, while upholding safety and quality standards for a busy beachfront property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, trade school favored.
• Special courses in building maintenance and construction preferred.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or similar setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Monitor engineering functions during off-hours and respond to emergencies, including fire alarms and power failures; notify authorities.
• Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order and document parts used and needed purchases.
• Handle elevator breakdowns and maintain records for PM and request programs.
• Complete daily work orders and report unsafe conditions to leadership.
