Job summary

Garden Inn Evanston is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role ensures the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff.

You will perform routine maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems; respond to requests, inspect regularly, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance engineering, hospitality preferred.
• CPO certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records; troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards
• Assist with renovations, upgrades, and special projects as needed
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required
