Hyatt Place Washington DC NoMa is seeking an Engineer to perform preventative and repair maintenance to uphold quality and sustainability standards while delivering warm, guest-friendly service.

The role offers opportunities for growth along the Engineering path and requires hands-on maintenance skills across building systems, room inspections, and safety compliance. Schedule may vary with shift work and peak periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and Trade school coursework in related field preferred.
• Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, bulbs and fixtures.
• Repair furniture and fixtures.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Trace and repair water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure work complies with local, state and Federal codes.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing satisfaction.
• Follow safety guidelines and use PPE.
