Job summary

Meyer Jabara Hotels in Flushing, NY is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee the physical operations of the property and ensure guest comfort and safety at all times.

You will perform major repairs on refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems; communicate with departments to address maintenance needs; execute the preventive maintenance program; and uphold the hotel's standards while resolving guest concerns quickly.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or plumbing.
• Minimum three years in a building maintenance department; hotel experience a plus.
• Journeyman certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the physical operations of the hotel to ensure guest comfort and safety.
• Perform major repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Coordinate maintenance needs with Housekeeping and Guest Services.
• Execute the preventive maintenance program and report deficiencies.
• Maintain standards of product quality and guest satisfaction.
• Attend training sessions and uphold uniform and schedule requirements.
