Job summary

Twelve Downtown, Autograph Collection in Atlanta is seeking a dependable Hotel Engineer to maintain safety, appearance, comfort and functionality of the property. This hourly, non-exempt role handles preventive maintenance, responds to guest and operations requests, troubleshoots equipment, and completes repairs across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance or facilities management.
• Ability to troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest-room maintenance requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, mechanical spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building issues.
• Inspect rooms and equipment to identify maintenance needs before they affect guests or operations.
• Maintain heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other hotel systems within the scope of the position.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and document repairs in the hotel's maintenance system.
• Communicate unresolved or significant issues promptly to Engineering leadership.
• Assist with routine inspections, equipment testing, meter readings, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, ladder safety, chemical handling, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and secure engineering workspaces.
• Support fire-life-safety, emergency-response, and property-loss-prevention procedures.
• Coordinate respectfully with Housekeeping, Front Office, Security, and other departments to minimize disruption to guests.
