Job summary

The Marriott Autograph Collection property Twelve Midtown & Downtown in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Hotel Chief Engineer to lead preventative maintenance and ensure safety and guest comfort. You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, coordinate with outside contractors, and maintain logs, with a focus on reliability and quality across 12 hotels and residences.

Strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and ability to work weekends or on-call shifts are essential in this hands-on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical cert preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in hotel or facility maintenance.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to guest requests and service calls for maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Maintain the property’s appearance, including touch-up painting, carpentry, lighting, and upkeep.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve building system malfunctions.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and cleanly.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance requests, completed work, and inspections.
• Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors as necessary.
• Adhere to safety protocols and Marriott standards.
• Assist with emergency procedures, including fire alarms, power outages, and plumbing leaks.

Position Summary:

The Hotel Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards of12 Hotels & Residences, a luxury property in the Marriott Autograph Collection. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hotel systems and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls for maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and a guest-focused attitude.
• Knowledge of Marriott maintenance protocols a plus (training provided if not experienced).
