Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Miami Beach seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the hotel’s physical plant and safety standards across properties. The engineer performs maintenance and repairs and preventative tasks for all hotel areas.

Responsibilities include grounds upkeep, minor repairs, electrical and plumbing tasks, furniture refurbishment, and ensuring suites and common areas meet high standards for guest comfort. Flexibility to work nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills are required.
• 1+ year of general building maintenance and repair experience.
• Completion of high school diploma or related vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior grounds daily and as needed to ensure appearance and safety.
• Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Ensure equipment is ready for daily operations and maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
• Assist with security of inventory and assets and respond to guest requests to ensure satisfaction.
