Baxter Hotel Group Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Department, rotating between managed properties in San Diego. The role requires strong hands-on maintenance skills, guest service mindset, and flexibility to work over weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on maintenance experience, hotel or construction preferred.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Trade school or equivalent experience preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Basic math skills for material calculations.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• Flexible schedule (weekends, evenings, holidays required).
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong guest service mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders up to 30 feet; perform physical tasks.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas in excellent condition
• Respond to maintenance requests and property emergencies
• Perform repairs including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, wall coverings, caulking, grouting, and masonry
• Conduct inspections to identify repair needs
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance procedures
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists

Requirements

• Experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems
