Job summary

Think Hospitality in Miami is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join the hotel Engineering Department. You will rotate across sections, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient, safe operations of mechanical and plumbing systems.

The role requires practical technical skills, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining guest satisfaction and cleanliness in the work area.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and problem resolutions skills.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Walking and standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to carry 60 lbs.
• Ability to use various power and hand tools very efficiently and actively.
• Follow oral or written instructions if it is needed.
• Good practical and technical skills
• An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
• The ability to work quickly and under pressure
• Fluency in job related English both verbal and non-verbal.
• The ability to manage a varied workload
• An awareness of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Rotate within the Engineering Department and other hotel departments as assigned.
• Be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
• Keep the Place of Work and surrounding area clean and organized at all times.
• Monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Handle guest and employee inquiries courteously and report issues with follow-up.
• Ensure workmanship is of high quality and tasks are completed on time.
• Maintain and repair mechanical and plumbing fixtures and fittings.
• Inspect, clean, maintain and repair fire fighting and other fire prevention systems.
• Inspect, clean, maintain and repair water supply systems and heat exchangers.
• Inspect, clean, maintain and repair sewage systems and pumps.
• Complete maintenance requests with attention to guest-related and front-of-house tasks.
