Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Houston seeks a reliable Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance across the DoubleTree by the Galleria property. You will work across guest rooms and public areas to ensure safety and comfort for guests.

The role requires English communication, 2+ years in maintenance, flexibility across shifts, physical ability to lift 25–75 lbs, and knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing. Experience with painting, drywall, caulking, and carpentry is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of maintenance experience in hotel, hospital, apartment, or office building.
• Must communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Flexibility to work AM, mid, PM, overnight, weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift 25-75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers preferred.
• Experience in painting, drywall, caulking, and carpentry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and assigned hotel areas.
• Assist in checking electrical systems and HVAC controls and perform minor repairs.
• Assist with major repairs of hotel equipment including boilers and plumbing.
• Service the pool and maintain exterior areas of the building.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbal and written
• At least two (2) years previous engineering/maintenance experience in hotel, hospital, apartment or office building
• Flexible to work AM, mid-shift, PM, overnight, weekends and holidays
• Able to use computer or tablet
• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, stand on feet for at least eight (8) hours and able to lift, push or pull 25 lbs. to 75 lbs.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, H.V.A.C., boilers highly preferred
• Experience in painting, drywall, calking and carpentry highly preferred

Job Description

• Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and assigned areas of the hotel
• Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement
• Assist with major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems
• Assist with servicing the pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning/changing filters
• Maintain the building exterior to include lawn care, power washing, spreading salt for icy conditions
• Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance issues in guest rooms and fix the issue
