Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in various kitchen functions. You will follow recipes, maintain standards, and ensure proper handling of perishables in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires dexterity, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and strong verbal and written communication to coordinate with servers and teammates. Hotel kitchen experience is preferred.

• Dexterity to operate kitchen equipment.
• Ability to grasp, lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items prepared ahead of time without over preparing.
• Date and rotate perishables; maintain proper temperatures.
• Check pars and plan necessary prep; keep buffet stocked.
• Return unused items to storage and label perishables.
• Assist in cost control and waste reduction per standards.
