Job summary

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa is seeking a culinary professional to plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production across designated outlets. You will follow standards and plating guides, maintain sanitation, and uphold the luxury reputation of the property with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities include preparing foods per recipes, controlling storage and portions, and keeping work areas clean and compliant with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Read and write English to read tickets and recipes.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, sauces and garde manager.
• Experience in a high-volume kitchen with discretion and professionalism.
• Experience in hotel or luxury dining environments preferred.
• Restaurant supervisory/leadership experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all foods in accordance to standard recipes and uses only high-quality ingredients.
• Monitors storage, portion control and food rotation.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of refrigeration, storage and work areas to meet health regulations.
• Ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Reads recipes and uses basic math to accurately prepare items.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
