Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to lead operations at Land’s End Resort in Homer, AK. The role emphasizes quality, service excellence, and cost-efficient management within a hotel kitchen environment.

The supervisor will oversee daily food service activities, ensure sanitary conditions, train staff, and drive continuous improvement in products and service delivery. Strong leadership and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of documented Food Service Supervisor experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospital setting.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record per NMS policy.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provides team leadership by ensuring unit cohesiveness and client alignment.
• Directs daily food service operations including menu evaluation, planning, purchasing, inventory, receiving, food prep and storage.
• Maintains sanitary and food safety conditions and training to meet auditing procedures and regulations.
• Accountable for execution of product and service quality at highest level of delivery.
• Involves in daily operations; promotes diversity and teamwork.
• Implements short- and long-term goals aligned with services scope, mission, and values.
• Provides feedback to employees; rewards, coaches, and motivates.
• Supervises day-to-day activities, prioritizes tasks, and monitors standards.
• Establishes a safe work environment via safety audits and training.
• Maintains kitchen and storage to exceed sanitary conditions.
• Directs staff and develops solutions; ensures objectives are met.
• Motivates team to achieve goals and reinforce teamwork and excellence.
• Develops schedules and performance evaluations; oversees hiring and termination actions.
• Monitors internal QA and food safety audits (HACCP records).
• This role supervises staff and may take on other duties as needed.
