Job summary

Houston Marriott West Loop - Galleria seeks a skilled Cook to join its culinary team. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes to hotel standards in a fast-paced kitchen, while maintaining cleanliness and organization.

You will work closely with the Executive Chef and hotel staff, follow recipes, ensure food safety, and adapt to weekends, evenings, and holidays as required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes as per the hotel's menu, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of food quality and presentation; ensure timely service.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations and maintain cleanliness.
• Inventory and Cost Control: Assist in managing kitchen inventory and report issues.
• Teamwork & Communication: Work closely with kitchen staff and front-of-house.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate kitchen equipment properly and report malfunctions.
