Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Los Angeles is seeking a Cook responsible for preparing hot and cold items per standardized recipes for Restaurants and Room Service. You will maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen while minimizing waste and maximizing cost efficiency.

The role requires culinary experience, ability to work flexible hours, and strong teamwork. Candidates should be able to handle high-volume periods and maintain a “Clean As You Go” policy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work – lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Ability to withstand temperature variations hot and cold.

Responsibilities

• Know menu items and required preparation per hotel standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Prepare ingredients and cook foods to hotel standards.
• Ensure food comes out high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
• Support any position in the Kitchen as needed.
